New research

Lightning Process Research Update

Many people who have a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis use the Lightning Process to get improvement in their symptoms.
Interim data has now been released from the Multiple Sclerosis Proof of Concept Study.  The results from this will be appearing in the
MS magazine ‘New Pathways’, the Multiple Sclerosis ResourceCentre  also commented on the results:

This Proof of Concept study, although being in a small number of subjects, produced some very encouraging and
worthwhile results over a 6 month period following participation in the Lightning Process. They indicate that the
Lightning Process provides measurable benefits to those with MS and suggest that a further larger randomised
study would be beneficial to investigate the role the Lightning Process plays in the well-being and quality of life of
MS patients. (MSRCSeptember 2011)

Successes

If you are thinking about doing the Lightning Process for fatigue issues, have a look at this Youtube link to get an idea of the dramatic results that can be achieved.

If you have already done the Lightning Process, why not make your own video and be included in the next success film?

What Can I use the Lightning Process for?

We see clients who use the Lightning Process for all sorts of conditions. It is well known for helping people who come with fatigue and pain issues. My recent clients have also included people with weight issues, anxiety and someone with a chronic condition involving a foot impairment. Colleagues also see a huge number of people dealing with all sorts of conditions and situations in this country and around the world. I know people who have used it to deal with the stress of redundancy or the general stress of work.

Because what the Lightning Process does is to help stop the Physical Emergency Response (PER), where your body is stuck in Fight or Flight mode, then it can help with issues involving stress, as well as immune and auto-immune conditions. Once the PER is stopped then the body can re-balance itself easily and automatically. This means that clever thinking, digestion, and healthy immune system responses can be restored.

And once you have learned to use this tool, it is available for you to use yourself on issues  in your life that you want to tackle more effectively. I have used it to help my performance skills as a singer and a trainer, for example. Others have used it to help them climb mountains or run marathons. The world is your oyster!

Lightning Process on TV

This week is M.E. Awareness week, and the Lightning Process was featured on Lorraine at 8.30-9.30 this morning. The TV crew followed a client from before she did the Lightning Process until a month or so after. She looked and sounded completely different. It was great to see her out walking with her daughter after she had described herself previously as '100% housebound'.

If you'd like to see the programme, this feature was in the first half hour and you can view it here

Success for a young woman in severe pain

Yesterday Radio Nottingham featured an interview with a young woman who had severe pain in her foot as well as M.E. She healed herself using the Lightning Process. You can listen again for the next 6 days.

All in the Mind? I don't think so

There has been some interesting researched published recently about how to help people with M.E./CFS.
It seems to suggest that people are helped more if they are encouraged to do more exercise, rather than less.
I remember so well doctors saying to me when I was ill that I should build up my exercise gradually in order to get better. I've always loved taking exercise and was happy to give it a go (many times). Each time I tried it I had to stop because I'd 'crashed'.

Some M.E. patient groups are worried that any possible solutions for M.E./CFS may suggest it is 'all in the mind'. I certainly didn't want to be told that either when I was ill, and I don't believe it now.

I did also try to resolve my health issues through doing counselling. That didn't do the trick either.

What I learned in doing the Lightning Process was that I had real physical issues/symptoms and also that I had much more influence over them than I had realised. In the same way that placebos can work so well in human beings because we believe they will work, so the power of my mind was much more important than I had previously thought.
This was not because I was stupid, or not trying hard enough, or making it up. I just needed the information and tools to interrupt the cycle I was in.

The Physiological Emergency Response

One of the things that made the most sense to me about the Lightning Process was its explanation of the Physiological Emergency Response. At last, something I could get hold of that explained why I had got stuck in this cycle of exhaustion and strange symptoms that doctors could give me a label for but could not explain. For some reason my body had got stuck in a way of responding to physical and/or emotional stress, whether it was an initial illness or a bereavement or something else entirely, that meant my sympathetic nervous system was sending and receiving confused messages.

Now I have met many people with unexplained symptoms and I realise this response may be affecting all sorts of people at different times in their lives - sometimes after a virus or an operation; anything which puts stress on their body.

What the Lightning Process gave me was a way of interrupting that response and creating new ways of responding. Quite simple really!

The Lightning Process - is it for me?

When someone first told me about the Lightning Process and the huge changes someone they knew had got after having M.E. I decided to ignore the information. After all, I had worked hard for 15 or so years to get rid of my M.E. Why would there be some new idea that would be able to achieve what I hadn't in all my years of different treatments and diets? Ignoring it turned out to be a bad decision, as it meant I struggled on for a few more years.

But when my son, Callum, was diagnosed with M.E. at the age of 13 I knew we had to do something drastic. So, we made that leap, that decision, and we have never looked back. That 3-day training course was enough to make it possible for us to get our lives back. Now at last I am working full time again, as well as dancing and singing, gardening and cycling whenever I like; and that old wheelchair went to the tip. Callum is taking GCSEs, cycling to school and playing basketball twice a week.
